Maud Dahme: Hidden Child of the Holocaust
Through a secret network organized by the Dutch Resistance, Maud and her sister were forced into hiding during World War II. Moving from one family to another, they survived the war because of the extraordinary bravery and kindness of those who risked everything to protect them. After years apart, the sisters were finally reunited with their parents.
In 1950, Maud and her family immigrated to the United States, where she built a life defined by leadership, service, and impact. Once reluctant to share her story, now at 90 years ola, Maud speaks to audiences around the world - ensuring that the lessons of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
Her many honors include induction into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, being knighted by the King of the Netherlands, and serving as President of the New Jersey State Board of Education. Currently, Maud chairs the New Jersey Commission on Holocaust Education
